PESHAWAR:
The military on Thursday foiled an infiltration attempt by the banned Fitna al-Khawarij terrorist group along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Shaluzan sector of Kurram district, state media outlet Radio Pakistan reported, citing security sources.
According to the sources, Afghan Taliban forces opened “unprovoked fire” after Pakistani security forces moved to prevent the group from crossing the border.
In response, Pakistani security forces used heavy weapons to immediately retaliate against the firing, delivering what the sources described as an “effective response”.
