The couple exchanged vows on October 17, celebrating their Korean heritage with a garden ceremony and designer outfits
Grammy and Oscar-winning singer-songwriter Ejae, who also served as the singing voice of Rumi in the hit movie KPop Demon Hunters, married producer-turned-programmer Samuel Kim in Seoul, celebrating their relationship with a garden wedding at a venue closely connected to the bride’s childhood.
According to Vogue, the couple exchanged vows on October 17, 2026 at Stage 28, a former family home where Ejae spent much of her childhood exploring the garden and walking in the surrounding hills with her grandfather.
The couple first met in May 2017 through a songwriting session arranged by a mutual friend.
Their shared interests in anime and music helped establish their connection, and they began dating shortly afterwards.
In June 2025, Kim proposed during a sentimental picnic in a Brooklyn park filled with photographs of the couple and Ejae’s late dog.
Following Ejae’s growing international recognition for her work on KPop Demon Hunters, the couple moved their wedding plans from California to South Korea, giving them approximately four months to organise the celebration.
The festivities included a traditional Korean Paebaek ceremony and a welcome gathering at Congdu50 before the main wedding.
The garden setting featured green and earthy tones inspired by Ejae’s childhood memories, while the glasshouse reception incorporated soft fabrics and flowing drapes.
Ejae wore a custom Danielle Frankel gown for the ceremony, followed by a Zac Posen reception dress and a sparkling Milla Nova mini for dancing.
Kim chose a bespoke double-breasted tuxedo from Bhambi’s Custom Tailors before changing into a white Posen design.
The reception featured bilingual speeches, dinner, live music and Korean street food.
Reflecting on the celebration, Ejae told Vogue: “We are so thankful for each other and for our family and friends, especially given how many of our guests traveled across the world to celebrate with us!”
