The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in Karachi on Monday, as a westerly weather system moves from northern and central regions to the southern parts of the country.
According to the PMD, light rain with thunder is expected on Sunday in several districts including Jamshoro, Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin, Thatta, Shahdadkot, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, and Shaheed Benazirabad.
Scattered thunderstorms with light rain are also predicted in Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, and various areas of Mirpurkhas and Tando Muhammad Khan.
Rainfall is expected from Monday in the districts of Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Hyderabad, Matiari, and Jamshoro. Meanwhile, strong winds are likely to sweep across Karachi and other parts of Sindh on both Sunday and Monday.
The Met Office warned that thunderstorm-associated wind gusts, hail, and lightning could damage weak structures.
